Sheena Thompson is a Certified Tobacco Treatment Specialist at Gulfcoast North Area Health Education Center. Sheena provides support, service, and supervision in Hernando County and West Pasco.
Sheena has an associate degree in Counseling with specialization in Abnormal Behaviors from the University of South Africa. She is a certified assessor with Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA), which sets specific standards for training providers. She owned her own soft skills company in South Africa and provided training in the corporate and private sector. With over 30 years counseling experience and finds working with clients living with mental health and substance use disorder exceptionally rewarding. Sheena is also a Certified Laughter Leader and provides interactive and professional workshops to those looking for wellness through laughter.
Currently, she is responsible for promoting tobacco cessations services to businesses, hospitals, community organizations, apartments, schools, and any interested parties in her service area to assist in the overall wellness of all community members. She has a passion for supporting people to grow both personally and professionally and thrives on providing service to her community. As a former smoker, she has a keen understanding of the challenges experienced by tobacco users in addition to understanding the quit journey. She endeavors to inspire and motivate others to QUIT tobacco.
