AHEC Tobacco Training and Cessation (ATTAC) Program
What is ATTAC?
ATTAC brings health professions students together to learn about tobacco/nicotine dependency, prevention, and cessation issues.
Students who participate in this program benefit from an increased understanding of tobacco use, the pharmacology of nicotine, and drug delivery systems; increased awareness of the effects of tobacco and nicotine use; improved knowledge of how to help patients change unhealthy behaviors; and develop or enhance skills for dealing with dependent/addicted patients.
ATTAC is divided into two (2) components.
- Complete two (2) Online Modules
- Attend an in-person or virtual presentation. The presentations are provided by knowledgeable and engaging speakers in their field of expertise.
